The place demonstrates associations with a continuing commercial activity in Moora. It is an integral element in the Padbury Streetscape.
Brick rendered parapet separate for each of the two shop fronts. Bull nose verandah over the footpath. Glazed shop fronts with recessed entry doors central between the two shops.
When Stanley (SG) Snell moved his newsagency from Gardiner Street to the newly constructed shop in 1919, his son Jack Snell took it over. Part of the building was rented to a dentist. In c.1934, Elder Smith and Co operated in part of the building, later being absorbed into the newsagency.
