Aesthetic significance as an example of a rural brick homestead. Historic significance for its association with the Crisafulli family and market gardening on the shore of Lake Joondalup. Social significance for its contribution to the community's sense of place.
Single storey brick homestead, with spreading hipped roof and, wide verandah, wooden railings. Decorative timber posts and railing to verandah. Mature Pine trees to entry road. Olive grove to north and established market garden to west.
Antonio and Maria Crisafulli arrived in Fremantle from Sicily in 1912 and settled on a property near little Badgerup Lake. The Crisafulli family became close friends of the Leach, Darch and Martinovich families while on this property. After a short stay at that property, the family moved to a property situated on the shore of Lake Joondalup, opposite the 14 Mile Peg. This was where they started a market garden specialising in tomatoes, which later were highly prized for its marketing and export qualities. Antonio Crisafulli was a founding father of Anthony's Church. BA50/0055
