The settlers who were involved in the building of the school were Doug Beatty. Harold Claasen, and Ian Webster. The school opened with 15 pupils and the first teacher was Steve Butcher. Pupil numbers dropped and it was closed in 1972, The building, with some renovations, is still in use as a hall/pavilion.
Built in 1968 in timber frame, asbestos walls and a corrugated iron roof. It was built by settlers who had been teaching their children by correspondence.
