Statement of Significance

Aesthetically significant as an example of Fremantle’s vernacular architecture. Typical single storey cottage dating from the first decades of the twentieth century. Historically significant as a representation of working people’s living conditions in the Fremantle area. Has undergone significant alterations but original form remains intact.

Physical Description

Single storey rendered and tile (not original) hipped and gable roofed house. There is a skillion roofed verandah supported by masonry pillars onto a low wall balustrade which is probably not original. There are two chimneys with corbelling and timber double hung sash windows and stained leadlight glass in the front entrance.

History

A residence is recorded on Lot 7 of 12 of 36 CSL 7 in 1910/11.
