This strip of river reserve has aesthetic and scientific heritage significance. This area of urban bushland in its natural condition contains walk trails on both sides of the river (Mokare Heritage Trail). With the Recreation Centre and Oval Reserve, it is one of the most significant factors in creating the special atmosphere that is Denmark.
This area contains important riverine vegetation on the banks of the Denmark River as it enters Wilson Inlet, and is therefore valuable in the ecological sense. It is also the view one gets looking downstream from the Riverbank Park in the Town Centre and it forms part of the avenue along Hollings Road.
