The residence at 47 Railway Road has local significance for its role in the settlement of the district. Further it is a good example of the large house of its era constructed using impressed concrete blocks.
Medium sized house of impressed concrete block construction with a brown and green tiled roof. The main hip roof is joined to a second hip roof which forms the front verandah an entrance porch. The chimney to the south is of rendered masonry. The corners of the building are quoined using plain concrete block as are the surrounds to the main entrance and windows to the north east. The concrete block walls have been painted yellow. The building is surrounded by gardens with a small stone wall to the east.
