Statement of Significance

Aesthetically significant as an example of Fremantle’s vernacular architecture. Typical single storey stone cottage dating from the late nineteenth to early twentieth century. Historically significant as a representation of working people’s living conditions in the Fremantle area. Has undergone alterations but original form remains intact.

Physical Description

Single storey stone and zincalume hipped and small gable roofed house. The roof extends over the verandah and is supported by timber posts. There are weatherboard and skillion roofed additions at the rear and timber double hung sash windows extant. The following places form a significant group and contribute to the streetscape of Reuben Street: 3-5, 7, 8, 9 & 11.
