The place demonstrates a way of life, and has associations with the sporting community and the occupation of the district.
The Sports ground precinct comprises; Memorial entry gates Ref No. 21 Community Centre Ref No. 69 Agricultural display Shed Ref No. 70 Football Pavilion SITE Ref No. 115 The oval and any other significant places within the site.
After the war, with the shed gone from the old showgrounds near the Golf Course, the new oval was established with Pauley's shed still on it. The Sports and Showgrounds were open in time for a visit from the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, In 1951 the sports change room and lunch bar were built (the same community made bricks as the CWA), and in 1956 a special loan was approved for an Exhibition Shed which was subsequently opened on 8 April 1962. When the Agricultural Show was finally wound up, in the early 1970s, the proceeds went to the future Cottage Homes.
