This place is representative of the development of the Morley District and has significance for its civic associations.
A timber framed building on jarrah stumps with jarrah weatherboard cladding below sill height and fibre cement sheeting above. The corrugated iron hip roof continues on the same pitch at each end of the building in the form of a lean-to extension and with a further extension at one end to create a small store room. Entrance is by a wooden ramp leading to two separate doors alongside each other, (originally two separate classrooms), under a small porch roof. Windows are the wooden sash type and have small propped canopies over.
The old classroom is now located on the new site of Morley Primary School and is currently used as a cafeteria. Unfortunately, no first hand accounts or photographs of the building being shifted have come to light. The structure, though not on the original site, is significant to the history of the Morley district, which was emerging as a community with its own facilities in the early 1930s. The school was opened in 1934 crowning a long and arduous campaign by the mothers of the district. No other civic structure has survived from this early period.
