Statement of Significance

The building is significant on the following grounds: 1. Erected in 1920s to provide overnight accommodation for rail passengers and longer term accommodation for railway employees. 2. Later restored and redeveloped as Kooraminning Centre for Aborigines, the first building restored for Aboriginal people. 3. Now houses Aboriginal and cultural activities. 4. Makes an architectural statement opposite the railway footbridge.
