The place demonstrates associations with the communication and postal facilities in Miling.
The main structure is a gabled pavillion with a corrugated iron roof. The street facade has a single door opening and various windows as well as the post office boxes. The facade is clad with vertical profile fibro cement sheets. A boxed canopy extends along the face and is supported by slender steel columns.
The first post office in the Miling district was at Seymour's 'Woodbine' property. In 1921, Seymour also established the telephone exchange at 'Woodbine'. After the railway siding was established at Miling, the mail went to Dewar's store siding, followed only days later in November 1925 by the telephone exchange. Dewar sold to me Etalides, an Armenian tailor, he lasted only a few months because he had considerable difficulty with the language and the telephone exchange. Mr G Woods was building a new store and when it was finished, he installed the post office and telephone exchange. In 1929 Woods built a house on the same site. The Poffice is a centre point in the town.
