Statement of Significance

The No.1 Bore at Peron Station has historic significance for its connection to the development of the pastoral industry in Shark Bay and the Peron Peninsula.

Physical Description

The bore site at Peron Station has several storage tanks and a wind mill which was used to pump water to various stock troughs on the property. The property is under the management of CALM and is open to the public. One tank has been relined and is used as a "hot tub" and a grassed picnic area has been established nearby.

History

1906 - John Henry Mead took over the Peron Peninsular leases.
