The place is significant for the following values: Aesthetic Value: The building has aesthetic significance as a good example of a 1956 modern country community hall. Social Value: The building has social significance as the local community have strong associations with the building being used since the 1950's.

Physical Description

A good example of a 1950's modern community hall structure with pleasing massing of form and design.

History

The hall was constructed in 1956 and replaced the earlier Agricultural Hall that opened in 1894 and stood between the Picton-Boyanup Road and the railway line just north of the tourist information bay. The new hall was opened by Mr Iven Manning, MLA at 8pm on Thursday 18th October 1956.
