Statement of Significance

Part of the heritage of Cottesloe. An interesting example of architecture in a lovely location next to two other houses of heritage value in an area being considered as a precinct.

Physical Description

House with Federation Arts and Crafts style overtones built circa 1913 - possibly with 1930s alterations. This house has Georgian, Old English and Swiss Chalet influences evident. The steeply hipped roof is tiled and has a striking row of tall plain rendered tapering chimneys topped by plump pots. The prominent half timbered central front gable contains windows to a second floor room. Eastern verandahs are enclosed with four-paned lights. The double front doors with side lights are set in a columned portico. Later additions include a front carport and a screen wall to street and park.

History

In 1913 Mrs JA Oldham owned this land. It was sold to A.T. Salmon in 1913 as improved.
