26090 Holland/Forrest Street Heritage Area
House 121 Holland Street is a single storey timber and iron house constructed as a simple variation of the Federation Bungalow style of Architecture. The walls are painted timber weatherboard. The roof is hipped and gabled and is corrugated iron clad. The front entry porch is under an extension of the main roof. The porch is supported by twin timber posts with a timber weatherboard balustrade. The front façade has timber casement windows. The place has a timber picket front boundary fence and gate.
The house on Lot 1715, 121 Holland Street first appears in the rate books for 1935/36 and was a State Housing Commission House occupied by Harold Norman Rogers. The house was originally number 192, and became number 121 when the whole street was renumbered in 1937. Rogers was living in the house until at least 1949 (when post office directory records cease). Aerial photos show that between 1985 and 1995 extensions and modifications were made to the rear and side, and considerably more modifications in the early 2000s.
