Statement of Significance

The World Wars had a significant impact on small communities such as Morawa. The memorial remembers those who gave their lives for their country.

Physical Description

The memorial faces south and comprises three panels, the central one slightly higher and containing a clock face. There are the following inscriptions: 1 Carved in granite: In grateful memory of those who gave their lives for their country lest we forget (central panel) They shall not grow old as (left panel) We who are left grow old (right panel) 2 Plaque In memory of the fallen and the Unknown Australian Soldier 75 th Anniversary of Remembrance Day 11-11-1993 3 Plaque In memory of the men and women of the Australian Armed Forces who participated in the Vietnam War 1962 -1972
