26144 Sites of Significant Houses Dating from the Development of the Augusta Township
“Pericles” is one of the oldest houses still in existence in the town of Augusta, and is still in good condition, with no modifications carried out to the exterior. Its architecture and design are indicative of homes built at the beginning of the century.
Pericles was built by retired Baker, Mr W. Owen. The Owen family were early settlers in the Augusta town.
“Pericles” was built in 1912 by retired baker, Mr W Owen. It is located in Manning Street and was a most attractive addition to the street. It was the family home for the Owens, who were one of the early settlers in the Augusta town.
