The place is a good example of an attached pair of residences dating from the period of expansion of Fremantle in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The place contributes to a substantially intact late nineteenth and early twentieth century streetscape close to the centre of Fremantle.
75-77 Quarry Street is a single storey rendered attached pair set above the level of the pavement on limestone foundations with a hipped Colorbond/Zincalume roof.
The first house erected on lot 861 is in 1887/88. In 1896/97 two houses were erected on lot 862. They were owned by John Paisley.
