08202 Corrigin Town Centre Precinct
Demonstrates a way of life.
The original 1920s building has been completely demolished in two stages and the place has been reconstructed in two stages. Brick and tile construction with a verandah across the front. Function rooms and a bar inside.
The inaugural meeting of the Corrigin Club took place on 19 June 1950. Harry Gayfer (Senior) had been the original activator for the club, as he had been 33 years previously in the formation of the Corrigin Co-op. He had the honour of being a Founding and Life member of the Corrigin Club. After forming the club, the members purchased the house next to the Town Hall and set about altering it. The front of the house was demolished and reconstructed, and then the remainder of the house was demolished and reconstructed.
