This cottage was built and used by Eric Linthorne as a holiday cottage. Eric Henry Raymond Linthorne was born in 1890, the son of Henry Peach Linthorne and Clementina (nee Russ). He married Idahlia Gertrude Criddle in 1911.The cottage was originally sited on the Port Denison foreshore opposite the Port Store (Place No. 71). It was moved to its present site in about 1950. This small cottage is set in a high position overlooking the Port Denison Harbour. It has a red painted corrugated iron roof which extends to cover the front and rear verandas The rear veranda is enclosed and the front veranda is enclosed at the northwest corner. The south west aspect of the front veranda is accessed through a green painted picket gate and has a balustrade with infill below. Small paned casement windows are set in the front and rear verandahs. There is a masonry fireplace set to the exterior of the south wall which has a metal chimney and flue. The building is painted cream.
