The place, for its building form and architectural characteristics, makes a positive contribution to the Whatley Crescent streetscape. It is representative of early suburban settlement within Maylands.
A symmetrically planned truple fronted house set depp on the site, with paired double hung sash windows flanking the front entry assembly. The walls and solid chimneys are all tuck pointed and the full width verandah has turned posts and a set of dweeping steps leading to it from the garden. It has tuck pointed brick walls and stucco dressings and strings with an iron roof.
A fine, authentic example of an early suburban house with high aesthetic value and in good condition.
