The building was erected during the mineral boom of the 1960s and is a good example of its era.
A cream brick building with flat roof and metal facia, overlooking one of two railway crossings in the town. There is a plaque of satin bronze, 55cm x 42cm, on the front wall, with the following inscription: This building was opened on 17th March 1967 by The Premier and Treasurer of Western Australia The Hon. David Brand M.L.A. in association with the Hon. K.F. Griffith M.L.C. minister for justice and the Hon. J.F. Craig M.L.A. minister for police Architect Robert Blatchford Perth Builder S. & M. Wojcik Northam
