The place is historically important for it's origins as the Women's Friendly Union Rest Rooms amd later for it's association with Infant Health in the town.
Formerly th Women's Friendly Union Rest Rooms built by Messrs Proctor and Morris and opened in 1924. Added to for the Infant Health Clinic in 1956.
