Statement of Significance

The building is significant on the following grounds: 1. Erected for Nurse Kelliher as hospital, built 1914 by JH Brown. 2. Continued as hospital until business transferred to Falcon Street. 3. Housed refugees in World War II. 4. Converted to convalescent hospital in 1958. 5. Boarding house for Aboriginal girls in 1970s. 6. Private home from 1980s.

Brick and iron building featuring simple verandahs, with detailed ornate supports. Carved name across gable.
