Aesthetically significant as an example of Fremantle’s vernacular architecture. Typical single storey stone cottage dating from the late nineteenth to early twentieth century. Historically significant as a representation of working people’s living conditions in the Fremantle area. Has undergone significant alterations but original form remains intact.
Single storey stone and brick quoining and a zincalume hipped roof with two chimneys with corbelling house. The façade features two bays extending upwards to two stone and brick gables. There is a lower level stone section to the rear of the house. The dropped veranda is supported by chamfered timber posts, has been semi enclosed with lattice and timber balustrades, probably not original.
A cottage is recorded on lot 36 of 81 in 1900. (Fremantle Rate Book records).
