Statement of Significance

The building is significant on the following grounds: Aesthestic Value: The Building is representative of the styles of hte period and makes a siginificant contribution to the landscape. Historic Value: It is associated with the construction of the telegraph line to connect Western Australia with the national network. Explorer Eyre and party rested in the area for about three weeks before resuming their journey. Social Value: The area has been suggested as having value as a tourist destination.

Physical Description

A limestone block building with timber-framed verandah and corrugated iron roof painted red; two chimneys (possible remnants of previous buildings) situated 200m east.

Integrity/Authenticity

Authenticity: Most of the original fabric remains intact. Deterioration due to vandalism and weathering is apparent. Extent of original Fabric: Most Modifications: None
