Statement of Significance

The trees are strong visual elements in the streetscape of Henrietta Avenue, and have impressive height, circumference and canopy spread, making them outstanding examples of their species. The trees are associated with the Derry Na Sura vineyard which was established on this site by Martin and Roberta Jull in the 1890s.

Physical Description

These Port Jackson Fig trees (Ficus rubiginosa) are situated on parkland on the western side of the Henrietta Ave and are wonderful examples of this species attaining great dimension in height, circumference and canopy spread.

History

The trees mark the position of the Derry Na Sura vineyard which operated from the 1890s to 1940s and was established by Martin Jull.
