The significance of the site can not yet be established until further information on the place is found. In the mean time the Shire may wish to commemorate the site with a plaque.
It is thought that the information provided below relates to this site; however, it has been difficult to verify. A flour mill was constructed in Wagin in c.1906. In 1909, the mill was leased out to Mr Quigley for six years. By 1917, the mill was operating at full capacity. In 1950, following years of heavy use, the mill installed a new bulk wheat elevator which speeded up handling. The mill closed in 1960, due to economic and financial factors. It is not known when the flour mill was demolished.
