The site has associations with the early settlement of Cadoux as the social and community centre of the community.
In 1929, a hall committee was formed, and the first district sports meeting at Doherty's Soak raised money towards the hall. The hall was built and opened in 1930. The hall served the community and from when it was established, the community social, civic, religious and other functions took place in the hall. Numerous annual balls were held at the hall; CWA Ball, Easter Ball, Debutante Balls, Batchelor Balls, New Years Eve Balls. The annual sports day dances and the first football club cabaret, as well as the Golf Ball. Local musicians usually provided the entertainment at the regular dances and social gatherings. The CWA held their inaugural branch meeting in the hall in 1930, and continued to hold their monthly meetings in the hall, free of charge, in appreciation of the funds they raised for the hall committee, and the facilitation of the supper room . The CWA Ball was "The" event of the year in Cadoux. From when the hall was built, the church services formerly conducted at the Booth's home, were held at the hall. Mother's Day Service was an annual event, and regular monthly services were conducted by a minister from Wongan Hills. In 1939, the Patriotic Committee incorporated with the Red Cross. A "Welcome home" dinner was held at the hall to welcome the service men home form the war, in 1946. King was the only local person lkilled, and a street was named in commemoration. After World War Two, the school student numbers increased and the hall was bought into use as extra classrooms. In the early 1930s Mrs Austin Smith held ballet classes in the hall, and ballet classes were started in the hall again in 1959, with Heather Baskerville of the WA Ballet Company. Bridge was very popular in the 1930s, and two clubs formed in Cadoux; the Cadoux Club east of the railway line, and the Kokardine Club west of the railway line. Interclub competitions were held (at the Hall ??). During World War Two the club went into recess, and ended in 1954. However the club reformed in 1967, at the Sports pavilion. In 1954, a Cadoux branch of the Masons was formed, and regular meetings were held at the Cadoux Hall until their own hall was constructed in 1968/69. During the 1960s, the Cadoux Drama Group used the hall. The Cadoux Hall was completely destroyed in the devastating earthquake that shook Cadoux on 2 June 1979.
