Statement of Significance

This building, little changed from its original form, is a typical example of a primary school designed to meet the educational needs of an expanding rural population. Built in the 1920s to replace the 'local school' conducted at St mark's Anglican Church i, Upper Warren, this school is now a hall and recreational centre for the district. The tennis courts are an addition - constructed sometime in the 1940s. The whole is surrounded by undulating farm and forest country.

Physical Description

This building, constructed of weatherboard and asbestos is rectangular in design and has a pitched roof. The whole is covered in corrugated iron. The floors are wooden. and there are three windows on each side of the building. The entry door was in the front from the open porchway. Since the building has become a hall and recreational centre, the porch is now enclosed with asbestos. There is one window, and the entry door is relocated to the side. Also the E.C.s have become W.Cs. The shed is enclosed on three sides only and has a corrugate roof.
