Statement of Significance

The Temperance Lodge comprising the ruins of the vernacular school house built through community initiative has significance for its role in developing a sense of place for the original settlement of the front flats of Greenough and as a picturesque element within a precinct of homogenous materials and form. (Refer to Conservation Plan pp 23-25).
