The place is an example of an early commercial property in Moora, and demonstrates associations with commercial and transport business people. It is an element in the streetscape.
Doublegable frontage, one gable over each shop front. One gable is infilled and painted horizontal corrugated iron, and the other with flat tin sheets. The shop front has only one door on the southern most side. The shop windows are aluminium framed with cream face brick walls below.
In 1897 Ali Mahomet (born in Somaliland) set up a general store. Later the place became Raynard's Garage. Most recently Moora Auto Electrics have operated on these premises.
