121 Throssell Street, Collie has cultural heritage significance for the following reasons:
• It forms part of the early commercial centre of Collie; and
• It contributes to the streetscape of Collie.
121 Throssell Street is a single storey brick building with shop front windows either side of the off centre- double door entry (not original). There is a suspended steel verandah roof and a simple parapet that hides the roof.
A photograph dated about 1910 shows signage indicating that Chas. Habel Saddler and an auction house were located at the site in a single storey building with a bull-nosed verandah .
Street names are not included in the Post Office Directories for Collie until 1935 at which time EA Griffith, auctioneer is listed at 71 Throssell Street until 1940. EA Griffith was listed in the Directories as a commercial agent from as early as 1912.
There is no further reference to 71 Throssell Street in the Post Office Directories.
In 2015, the place is used as a shop and occupied by a pharmacy/chemist.
