Statement of Significance

Significant for its association with the opening of the timber industry in
Jarrahdale which was the basis for the development of the Jarrahdale townsite. Part of the group of historié buildings in the historic Jarrahdale townsite.

Physical Description

The remaining structures of the sawmill complex. The mill - the fourth
No. 1 to be built - is Located on the south bank of the Gooralong Brook, originally containing 28 saw benches, and adjacent to a second sawmill (demolished). The timber store, c1913, is of undressed pole construction with
corrugated iron walls and roof set low in a valley near the Gooralong Brook. Located on the site of the original No. 1 mill.
