DEMOLISHED
Koombana House was constructed by the Scott family, the earliest settlers in the Bunbury district when they moved into town c 1860. It was a popular boarding house for many years and was a prominent landmark in the town.
DEMOLISHED
Circa 1860, John and Helen Scott, the district’s earliest settlers, built a residence and business in Victoria Street. Their son, Robert, and his wife Catherine operated a boarding house from the two storey premises for some years.
By 1889, the board and lodging house was owned by Robert Scott.
It is believed that most of the boarding house was demolished to make way for a new building c 1903. Several additions and alterations were made to the later building over the years. This later building housed Duff’s Refreshment Rooms and Toronto House and was locally called ‘Koombana House’. It was demolished in August 1987 and the $1.2 Koombana Court Complex built on the site.
DEMOLISHED.
No visible remains.
