House 127 Holland Street is a single storey timber and iron house constructed as a simple variation of the Inter-War Californian Bungalow style of Architecture. The walls are timber framed and clad with timber weatherboards. The roof is hipped and clad with replacement Zincalume. The gable addresses the street, and is over a window with a Zincalume awning. The window under the verandah is also timber framed. The front verandah is under a separate roof supported by timber posts.
In the period 1905 - 1915 Lot 1166 was vacant and owned by Arthur Graham Knox and Frederick Thomas Knox. The lot remained vacant and had several different owners until the late 1930s. The Workers Homes Board purchased the land in 1937/38 and the following rate period they built a house on it. The first occupant of the house was Robert Lloyd Jones.
By 1950 Madge Ethel Jones was the occupant and was still living in the house in 1993, having purchased it from the State Housing Commission by 1987.
Aerial photos show that between 1999 and 2004 the house was extended at the rear, which modified the roof form.
Condition assessed as fair (assessed from streetscape survey only).
