The place is significant for the following values:

Aesthetic Value: The church has aesthetic significance for its example of a 1950's reconstructed early Gothic style building.

Historic Value: The church and cemetery have historic significance their its association with earlier pioneer settler Jessie Gardiner who donated the land in 1842. The cemetery has historic significance as an early cemetery dating back to 1842

Social Value: The church has social significance for the high esteem that the local community holds for the place.

Physical Description

Former church 1879, current church 1950-53, cemetery 1842

A simple one room country church built in 1959. The building represents the Modern Gothic style of architecture replacing an earlier 1879 church. The building is built out of locally manufactured red bricks with a corrugated metal roof consisting of a simple single ridge with gable ends and a small brick portico entrance. The building has a pointed arch entrance and pointed arch windows with painted white casement windows. A crucifix is fixed to the gable end walls.
