Random coarse faced stone walls
Cement rendered quoins around door, windows and house corners

This house was built as a private dwelling for a prominent merchant Charles Drew. It was designed by architect
George Temple Poole, who became one of Western Australia's well-known Government Architects responsible for a number of prominent Government buildings. The house was sold in the late 1880s to the Western Australian Government for use of Governor's summer residence. In 1910, the government purchased The Rocks in Grey Street for use as the Governor's Lodge and this house located behind the school became the Headmaster's House.
Previously the Headmaster had lived in a cottage. After the cottage was vacated it became the domestic science facility for the school but was later demolished.
The house was later converted to departmental offices.
Integrity: Very High
Modifications: Part of the rear verandah has been enclosed with corrugated iron to form another room
