In 1898, a cottage was built on Town Lot 65 of Subdivision 12 (later 40 Douro Road) for owner/occupier Francis Renouf, a widow. By 1907/08, the cottage and lots 63 and 64 were owned by the estate of Laura Renouf.
In 1935 plans for a brick residence were approved for owner Emily Williamson at a cost of ₤700. This replaced the galvanised iron cottage tht had been built in 1989.
By 1949/41, the house was owned and occupied by James Henry Williamson. In 1949/50, it was purchased by H Cooper and occupied by Dorothy Merrick. There were a number of tenants in the 1950s and 1960s.
