An historic site without built features. Recommend that the site is recognised by means of a plaque, place name, interpretive material, or an architectural or urban design, in due course.

Statement of Significance

The site represents the associations with the railway station and line, and demonstrates a way of life no longer practiced.

History

The railway first came to the Narembeen siding in 1917 on a line extending northwards from Narrogin via Yilliminning, Dudinin, Kulin and Kondinin. Narembeen siding was the railhead from 1917 until 1925 when the Merredin line was opened. The first stationmaster's wife, Mrs Wales, formed the Ladies Guild in the Anglican Church. The main attraction at the annual fete, in the front garden of the Stationmaster's house, was the may pole dances.
