This place is a representative example of an early shop with an attached residence and has historic value for its association with the development of the Maylands townsite, making a significant contribution to this streetscape.
Although now difficult to read, the place was once a house and attached shop and is one of several in Maylands town centre. The design is arts and crafts influenced and retains some of its original joinery and features. The front canopy is intrusive. It has stucco brick walls and an iron roof.
A reasonably good example of an early suburban shop and attached house type that makes an important contribution to the town centre streetscape.
