An historic site, associated with the extraction of rich deposits of alluvial gold.
That area of mining where gold was first discovered in Coolgardie, and which became the chief alluvial gold mining area in the foundation period of Coolgardie. (The area in which gold was first discovered by Bayley in 1892)
