Building forms part of remnant building stock which makes up historic town's fabric.
Weatherboard and iron building constructed c.1929 as meeting place by members of newly formed 'Toc H' (Talbot House).
The building originally consisted of a large common room with a kitchen sited to the rear.
The origins of 'Toc H' can be traced back to England. Building was used for social events and meetings by this early service group and their sister group - League of Women Helpers (LWH). The Toc H motto was 'To Conquer Hate'.
