This place is a representative example of an early shop with an attached residence and has historic value for its association with the development of the Maylands townsite, making a significant contribution to this streetscape.
A two storey shop and residence with a richly decorated parapet that freely interprets classical elements. An earlier two storey verandah has been replaced by a cantilevered awning. It has brick and stucco walls, with an iron roof and a timber framed shop front.
One of the most elaborate shops in the precinct, having great aesthetic value as well as being an integral part of the precinct. It appears to be one of the earlier shops in the precinct of Whatley Crescent.
