The Mount Magnet Hotel has high social and historic significance as one of the two remaining hotels in Mount Magnet. The place commands considerable streetscape value considering its decorative features and street frontage.
Located on a prominent corner in the main street, this two storeyed building is of brick construction. A verandah and balcony wrap around the street facades of the hotel. The balcony is supported on heavy timber piers in concrete bases, while the balcony roof is supported on slim timber posts. A timber hand rail and simple timber balustrading decorate the balcony. The hotel has a hipped and gabled corrugated iron roof painted red which features a gable at the building truncation emphasising the main corner entrance. The gable treatment is similar to the Grand Hotel [Site No. 24] with decorative timber barge boarding in an old English style. French doors open out onto the upper level balcony while the lower level has timber framed double hung sash windows with small panes and slim glazing bars.
