All that remains of the Darlington Railway Platform site is the concrete platform and wall together with a date palm identifying the site at the edge of the railway reserve walk/bridle trail system (Eastern Railway), through the centre of Darlington. The open flat area around the old platform has potential for some community park/recreation use as apart of the village centre and forma a small precinct with the adjacent old post office and tea rooms building.
The first railway platform in Darlington was completed in 1889, and followed sub division of Greenmount Suburban lots neat the Eastern Railway and Dr Alfred Waylen's Darlington Vineyard.
