Although a small building, it is well proportioned and has some quite unique decoration. It has therefore been classified for its architectural importance and for its contribution to the streetscape.
A two storey (plus cellar) brick and stone commercial building with rich stucco ornamentation, situated on a very narrow lot. It is in many ways similar to the "Cellars Building", both having been designed by E.H. Dean Smith and constructed within two years of each other. At street level the building is recessed allowing entry to the cellar. The pediment is particularly distinctive, reminiscent of some Jacobean battlement.
