The site is significant due to its association with the development of the town of
Woodanilling.
Located about 80 metres north of Robinson Road, west of the railway line.
Dug to a depth of 33 feet (10 Metres). This site was not located during this research.
With the growth of the township of Woodanilling came a pressing need for a better water
supply. This well was dug so that it could fulfil that purpose and supplement the supply
from the nearby soak and was designated for public use. This too, proved inadequate and
two dams for the town were later built.
