The place is significant for the following values:
Historic Value: The former Wellington Mills and town site have historic significance as historic sites associated with the Canning Jarrah Timber Company.
Wellington Timber Mills and private timber township that was the largest in
the state in 1896 when it was established.
A timber plaque "Welcome to Wellington Mills" was erected as part of the Centenary Project sponsored by the Shire of Dardanup. The site consists of a historic information board with a map of the former site and a relic of a jarrah log set on a timber saddle to the side of the information board.
Davis Mill was the first timber mill in the Wellington Mills area and was
opened in February 1881 by Miss Phoebe Hugh. Mr Weighing, An engineer,
constructed the Mill and Mr George Simpson was the Manager.
