The place is significant in demonstrating a way of life in Dangin.
Stone and corrugated iron with verandah surrounding the house. The symmetrical frontage has a central entry into a wide passage way. All the original interior walls are lined with pressed metal. A large room at a lower level has been added to the north west comer.
Parker donated the land for the hospital When tenders for the Dangin Private Hospital and Maternity Home were called in 1914, the storekeeper EH White was the secretary of the hospital company. Mrs A F Smith who had previously run the Temperance Hotel, then privately nursed people in their own homes, took charge of the hospital. The first baby delivered was Nancy O'Dea in March 1916. By 1919 the hospital had closed, and in 1920 Charles Kirkwood purchased the place for his private residence.
