Parker donated the land for the hospital When tenders for the Dangin Private Hospital and Maternity Home were called in 1914, the storekeeper EH White was the secretary of the hospital company. Mrs A F Smith who had previously run the Temperance Hotel, then privately nursed people in their own homes, took charge of the hospital. The first baby delivered was Nancy O'Dea in March 1916.
